Lago East Bank

Lago first debuted on August 27, 2006 as the first Italian restaurant in the historic Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. Opened by noted chef and restauranteur Fabio Salerno and his wife Nicole, the pair wanted to create a blend of contemporary and northern tradition Italian cuisine perfectly paired with wines from Italy’s finest regions while welcoming warm relationships within the close knit community. After six successful and memorable years in the charming Tremont, an opportunity arose that was an offer the Salerno’s couldn’t refuse! Lago, which means lake in Italian, was moving to the revitalized waterfront property on the East Bank of the Flats bringing chef- owner Fabio Salerno back where his career first took flight ( and where he and his wife first met)!

Lago would become part of the Aloft hotel as the anchor restaurant providing exclusive food & beverage to the hotel; room service to the hotel, exclusive caterer to the Riviera room and an outdoor Veranda connecting the hotel to the 23 story Ernst & Young tower. Lago features a 120 seat dining room, including a private dining option and a spacious 80 seat patio boasting an outdoor bar and two table-side fire pits. All while offering a premier view of Lake Erie, Cleveland’s beautiful bridges and the historic Flats in an upscale urban setting.
The regional and contemporary menu at Lago is a culmination of northern Piedmontese dishes to Sicilian seafood dishes inspired  by 30 years of Italian cooking and upbringing. The beverage options at Lago are equally as much thought out in standard and craft as the food menu. Lago offers an unique predominantly Italian wine lists where every bottle can also be ordered by the glass, and half bottle. An all European draft beer selection, well thought out craft bottled beer, Italian inspired handcrafted cocktail & martini list sets Lago apart from all the rest! Lago’s philosophy is simple… The freshest ingredients, made from scratch menu items, using simple recipes to bring authentic Italian favors to the table. All inside a warm and inviting atmosphere where good food and good friends coexist in blissful harmony.
