Heck's Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Ohio City, just across the river from downtown Cleveland, Heck’s Café is the undisputed crowned royal of gourmet burgerdom. Housed in an 120 year old red brick townhouse, the eatery has been delighting locals and tourists alike since 1974. The grill isn’t just known for burgers and fries, however. In addition to a

range of gourmet hamburgers, offerings for lunch and dinner include specialties like lobster mac-n-chz, classic steak frites, shrimp & grits, stuffed chicken and short ribs along with an array of appetizers and salads for any and every taste. Sunday mornings can find Heck’s patrons enjoying a brunch of Eggs Benedict and Baklava French toast with Heck’s signature coffee, and desserts include the ever popular salted caramel shakes or decadent crème brulee. The Plain Dealer calls Heck’s Café “A Cleveland Classic”, while OpenTable diners voted it “Great for lunch” and “A neighborhood gem”. Visitors can choose between seating the dark paneled pub area, the more open atrium in the rear; and al fresco dining along the side of the building in warm weather. Heck’s also offers a full takeout menu and accepts reservations through OpenTable. The café and grill is celebrating its 40th year of business in 2014.
